AI|ffinity Service
AI|ffinity, as a spin-off from Masaryk University and CEITEC, enjoys privileged access to CEITEC's top-notch structural biology core facilities.
The institution boasts an impressive collection of spectrometers with diverse magnetic field strengths (500 MHz, 600 MHz, 700 MHz, 850 MHz, 950 MHz) along with cryoprobes apt for every conceivable type of experiment. This cutting-edge apparatus is primarily designed for exploring the structure, dynamics, and interactions of biomolecules, such as proteins, nucleic acids, and carbohydrates. Nevertheless, its versatility makes it adaptable to a broad spectrum of research areas, encompassing material science, organic and inorganic chemistry, biochemistry, biology, and biophysics.
Biomolecular Interactions and Crystallography Core Facility (CF BIC) is dedicated to the biophysical and structural characterization of biomolecules, as well as the study of (bio)molecular interactions. Services include:
- X-ray crystallography and small angle X-ray scattering (SAXS).
- Basic characterization of physical properties of biomolecules using techniques such as analytical ultracentrifugation, analytical size-exclusion chromatography (SEC), dynamic light scattering, CD spectroscopy, differential scanning calorimetry, and differential scanning fluorimetry (DSF).
- Thermodynamics and kinetics of biomolecular interactions through techniques like isothermal titration calorimetry (ITC), surface plasmon resonance (SPR), bio-layer interferometry, microscale thermophoresis (MST), and analytical ultracentrifugation.
By capitalizing on these core facilities within CEITEC MU, AI|ffinity gains access to a wealth of cutting-edge technologies and knowledge, empowering us to push the boundaries of scientific exploration and achieve significant breakthroughs in our research endeavors.
